The Scientific & Technical Council sets research priorities and oversees scientific ethics and project review.

The Scientific & Technical Council is the advisory and expert body coordinating research and innovation activity at Navoiy State University. The Council works on developing the university's research capacity, setting research priorities and translating results into practice.

Its membership includes the Vice-Rector for Research, leading scholars from faculties and departments, early-career researchers and heads of research centres. The Council conducts expert review of grant projects, supports scholarly publications and conferences, and monitors compliance with research ethics standards.

Functions of the Council

Setting research priorities
Identifies the university's priority research directions, defines themes aligned with national and international research agendas, and advises on resource allocation.
Project review and expertise
Provides scientific evaluation of grant applications and innovation and research projects, examining their relevance, methodology and expected outcomes.
Upholding research ethics
Ensures integrity in research, prevents plagiarism and upholds principles of academic honesty, reviewing contentious cases.
Supporting young researchers
Supports development programmes for young researchers and doctoral students, including opportunities to publish and participate in conferences.
