Departments
Department of Uzbek Language and Literature
Founded in 1992 as the “Uzbek, Kazakh Language and Literature” department, it was later reorganised as the “Uzbek Language and Literature” department, working in Uzbek linguistics and literary studies.
Department of Uzbek Linguistics
The Department of Uzbek Linguistics separated in 1994 from the “Uzbek, Kazakh Languages and Literature” department. Over the years it was led by A. Ergashev, T. Xo‘jayev, M. Ravshanov and O. Qayumov. It conducts research and teaching in Uzbek linguistics.
Department of English Linguistics
The Department of English Linguistics trains philologists and teachers in English language theory and linguistics.
Department of English Applied Studies
The Department of English Applied Studies focuses on practical English teaching and modern language-teaching methodology.
Department of Russian Language and Literature
The Department of Russian Language and Literature trains philologists and teachers of Russian language and literature.
Department of Kazakh Language and Literature
The Department of Kazakh Language and Literature trains specialists in Kazakh language and literature and supports the study of Kazakh in the region.
Interfaculty Department of Foreign Languages
The Interfaculty Department of Foreign Languages teaches foreign languages to students in non-philological programmes. It is headed by Pirmanova Gavhar Nazarkulovna, PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor.
