Faculty of History

History, social sciences, psychology, national idea and law.

The Faculty of History traces its origins to 1993, when the “History” programme was opened within the Philology Faculty of Navoiy State Pedagogical Institute; it became a separate faculty in 1998. Over the years it has been led by scholars such as Z. Zoirov, Sh. Muhammadiyev, G‘. Temirov, R. Rajabov, X. Qurbonov, R. Qarshiyev and U. Narzullayev; today it is headed by Associate Professor Z. Tog‘ayev. The faculty trains specialists in history, social sciences, psychology, and the national idea, foundations of spirituality and law.

Departments

Department of History

The Department of History trains historians in the history of Uzbekistan and the world and conducts research on regional history.

Department of Social Sciences

The Department of Social Sciences teaches philosophy, sociology, political science and other social-humanitarian disciplines.

Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology trains psychologists and conducts research in personality and educational psychology.

Department of National Idea, Foundations of Spirituality and Law

The Department of National Idea, Foundations of Spirituality and Law separated from the Social Sciences department in 1991 and evolved over the years under the names “History and Law”, “Jurisprudence” and “National Independence Idea”. It teaches spirituality, the national idea and law.
